Chapter Three

Welcome to chapter three of my Creation to Future challenge. These are my placeholders for this chapter. This is gldkelly/Lynda and her dear husband George.

Lynda and George are romance sims who can't seem to keep there hands off each other. They would rather pinch each others butts than do meaningless stuff like eat and sleep. Seriously, they haven't eaten all day. This is a little taste of what they do when left to their own devices.

When we left the Creation lot last time, Abel and Marsha Bruening had pledged their love to each other. Once again I want to mention what adorably cute kids they would make.

Caine and Meadow Thayer had become a couple. Meadow seems to have tamed the romance Sim in Caine. All his wants lately seem to revolve around her. My plan is to have Meadow move in when Caine becomes an adult. Hopefully he doesn't screw that up.

Eve just gave birth to Seth. He is the fourth child required for this challenge.

And we also discovered Ivah thinks fishing is gross.
Ivah "Seriously, I am not going to touch this thing."
god "Just go give it to your Dad or one of your brothers."

So we start this next chapter with a birthday party for Seth.
Eve "Happy Birthday to you..."
Adam "Woohoo my boy is growing up."
Caine "Are we done yet? Meadow and I have a date."

 

Eve "What a big boy you are. And so handsome, just like your Daddy!"

Once again I have scored with a cute baby. Seth is sporting his Dad's cool CC hair. He is a Pisces 4 sloppy, 1 shy (hmmm, this might be a problem later), 10 active, 4 serious and 9 nice.

writer note: Okay, so I slacked a little during Seth's toddlerhood (there I go making up words again) I am not used to writing stories, so I forgot and didn't take a lot of pictures. So... if the next sequence seems a little, rough, you know why.

Life at the creation lot continues through the Summer months about the same. The family gardens and fishes, preparing for winter. We can not enter the next phase of the challenge until someone earns there Gold Fishing badge. While Eve takes care of Seth, Ivah tends the garden. Adam and the older boys fish, fish, fish. Her you see Ivah has earned her bronze badge.

god "So Ivah, the bugs don't bother you as much as the fish?"
Ivah "Fish are slimy and gross. The bugs don't bug me so much."

Side Note : In real life I HATE bugs. I am terrified of them. So, one day my mother in law sends me out to her garden to pull some green onion for her. There were these tiny black bugs crawling all over the base of the onions. I hade heart palpatations thinking about having to touch them (even with gloves on). I just couldn't do it.

 

Even though I slacked on the picture taking, I didn't slack on Seth's education, Adam taught him to walk and Eve potty trained him.

Seth "Me walk Daddy, Look, look, did you see?"
Adam "I saw, big boy! Soon you'll be chasing your sister around."

Caine and Meadow continued there courtship. They are cute together. They hold hands and romantically kiss. She won't let him make out with her yet (she's a little tease I think), but Caine is wearing her down :)
Caine "Hey god! Go away! Your cramping my style!"
Meadow "Who are you talking to Caine?"
Caine "god. She thinks she controls everything."
Meadow "Oh. Why can't I hear her Caine?"
Caine "Once we get married and you move in you will. Enjoy the silence why it lasts. Don't worry about her Meadow, come give me some more sugar."
god "Caine, what do you mean "She thinks she controls everything"? Caine!"
Caine "MMMM, Meadow your lips are so soft."

The next day Abel brought a new friend, Mehrissa, home from school. I had them sit down and hang out for awhile to gain relationship points and forgot them. Next time I went to check on them...

god "NO! Abel! what are you doing? Your going steady with Marsha! Your messing up my plans!"

Abel STOP!"
Abel "Mehrissa, you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I love you so much."
Mehrissa "I love you too Abel. I thought you and Marsha were going steady, I didn't think you liked me."
god "Don't ignore me pretty boy! You will let that girl go NOW!"
Abel "Marsha! She and I are just friends baby."
god "Abel, it would serve you right if Marsha walks onto the lot right now and catches you. Mehrissa isn't for you. Let her go."
Abel "I have some chores to do sweetie, I'll see you later, okay?"
Mehriisa "I'll be at the beach tomorrow if you want to meet me there. Bye Abel."

 

Abel "She is HOT!"

god "Abel, what are you thinking?" What if Marsha saw you?"
Abel "Who cares about Marsha? I only have one bolt for Marsha. But Mehrissa, she's...exotic! Besides, why can't I have them both?"
god "Abel *presses fingers to beginnings of headache* "Exotic? She's wearing a dress with lavender flowers. I would hardly call that exotic. What's going on Abel? You are supposed to be the good one, remember? Caine is completely in love with only one girl and now you want TWO! Do you have any idea what will happen if Marsha or Mehrissa catch you with the other?"
Abel "Just turn the lot jealousy off. I am just a spare anyways. Why can't I have both?"
god "No, I am in charge, you will marry who I tell you..."
Abel "We'll see."

 

 Yeah! I missed the picture, but Adam now has his Gold Fishing badge so we can skill Creativity!"

god "Adam where are you putting that fish?"

So I sent Caine and Abel to start painting.
Creation to Future Rules state that once the easel is allowed you will need to start skilling creativity. Once creativity is maxed several things happen. First, Sims enter the Egyptian or Roman Empire era. Secondly, your extra creative sims decide to open some community shops (groan). The first being a produce/fish stand. Once this is up and running sims may go buy groceries and aren't so dependent on the land. Except to supply the business of course.

Adam "Caine, what is that you are painting?"

Caine "Oh, just something I saw flying in the sky the other day. I think it's some strange bird."
Adam "I have never seen a bird like that Caine."

Caine really took to the Easel. He rolled the want to keep gaining creative skill points and selling a masterpiece. Abel wasn't that much into it, so I sent him to fish some more.

The next day it was time for Seth's birthday.

Seth "Happy birfday to me..."
Eve "Blow the candles sweetheart."
Adam "WooHoo, my boy is growing up!"
Abel "Is this over yet? I have a date with Mehrissa."

Seth "Look. look! I grow Big!"
god "Let's hope your still a cutie."

god "Oh good. Still cute. Now go change your clothes Seth, argyle doesn't exist yet."

Caine "Now you just wait until a fish bits."
Seth "I just stand here?"
Caine "Yeah!"
Seth "That's kinda boring."
Caine "Just wait till you catch your first fish, then you'll see how fun it can be."
Seth "Okay. I just don't see what the big deal is. I just stand here, right?"

Note : I actually had this conversation verbatim with my husband once :)

Later that night Ivah awoke from a bad dream.
Ivah "Daddy. I had a bad dream. Caine's in trouble. Daddy?"
Adam "What is it baby, what's wrong?"
Ivah "I think Caine may be in danger."
Adam looks over to the bed where his eldest son and heir apparent slept soundly.
Adam "Ivah baby, Caines okay. Look he's sleeping over there."
Ivah "No, Daddy. Something is going to happen! He's in trouble."
Tear filled her eyes as the image returned to her.
Adam "It was just a bad dream baby. Come on I tuck you back into bed."

No matter what he did Adam could not console his daughter.
Adam "Baby girl, your brother is fine. Would you like Daddy to sleep in the bed with you?"
Ivah shook uncontrollably as sadness and fear for her brother filled her. She knew it was a dream, but it seemed like so much more, so real.
Ivah "Yes please Daddy. Would you stay here with me."
She was already half asleep from the strain of grief.

The next morning Ivah's dream still hung heavy on her heart. Even though she was looking at Caine and he was fine, she just knew something horrible was going to happen.
Caine "It's your birthday today Squirt. Are you excited?"
Caine's voice pulled her from her dark thoughts.
Ivah "Huh?"
Caine "I said it's your birthday. Are you alright Squirt?"
Ivah "Yes, I am fine. My birthday. I had forgot. Maybe you and Abel will take me to the beach tomorrow."
Caine "Sure!"

Adam "My little girl is growing up."
Eve *sobs* "My babies are growing up too fast."
Caine "Way to go Squirt!"
Ivah used her birthday wish to wish for Caine's safety.
Ivah *dear god, please don't let anything happen to my brother. Our family is depending on him."

The next morning Ivah seemed to be in better spirits.
god "Are you feeling a little better Ivah?"
Ivah "Yes, It seemed so real, but it was only a dream, right?"
god "I am glad your feeling better. Enjoy your trip to the beach."
Ivah "god, it was just a dream, right?"
god "I don't know Ivah. I guess we will have to wait and see."

Ivah grew up quite lovely. I don't think i'll  have any problems finding her a husband. Ivah's a family sim. Her turn on's are brown hair and charisma. Her turn off is red hair.

During the hike to the beach Ivah was silent. She just couldn't shake the feeling that calamity would befall her family soon.
Caine "Hey Squirt, your awful quiet. Aren't you excited about the beach?"
Ivah "I'm sorry, I was just thinking. Yes, I am very much looking forward to going."
Abel "I am going to see Mehrissa again. It's going to be rockin!"
Caine "What's "rockin"?"
Abel "I just made it up... It means Really good!"
Caine "Oh, Rockin."
Ivah "You two are weird."

Mehrissa "Abel, you made it!"
Abel "Yeah babe. Wild Dogs couldn't keep me away. Give me those lips."
god "You know I don't approve of this Abel. If Marsha were to..."

Abel "I love you so much Mehrissa. I am going to be an adult soon. Would you like to grow up with me and get married?"
god "WHAT!?"
Mehriisa "Oh, Abel! I thought you'd never ask!"
god "ABEL! What the... You do NOT make those decisions. I DO! Look at that nose. What if she were to pass that to one of your children!"

Abel "mmmmm... Mehrissa...want to...touch... skin so soft and warm..."

Ivah "Abel, your going to get caught soon. It's not very nice stringing two girls along like that. You need to either make a decision or let them go Abel."
Caine "Yeah man, the Squirts right. It's not fair to either of them."
Abel "I know what I am doing. Why can't I have both? Ciane you understand, right?"
Caine "No man. Once you find "her" you don't want anyone else. What your doing isn't rocking."
Abel "Whatever. You just wish you had two babes digging you."
Caine "Digging?"

The next day Adam decided the shelter needed to be expanded.
Adam "Caine, you're going to be an adult in a couple days.When you and Meadow marry you are going to need a bit of privacy."
Seth "Why can't Meadow just sleep in our room Dad?"
Adam "*ahem* Well Seth, when a man and a woman..."
Caine "I don't want Meadow catching your cooties Seth. We need a room of our own like Mom and Dad."
Seth "I don't have cooties! What are cooties?"

Abel "I think it would be best to build up. Add a second story. What do you think Dad?"
Adam "It could work. We would need to find some way of climbing up there."
Abel "We'll think of something."
Seth "What are cooties?"
Caine "Maybe we could use some of that extra wood to raise the hay off the ground. Then use some of that extra animal fur to cover the hay."
Adam "That could work. It would be warmer in the winter. Good idea Son!"
god "That's a great idea Caine!" Those creativity points are starting to kick in huh?

Before work on the shelter could begin, a huge storm rolled in from the ocean. Adam and Eve had never witnessed such violence in a storm. The family took refuge in the shelter to wait it out. As the lighting revealed damage inflicted on their home everyone prayed that it would hold against the pounding of the rain and the shock of the thunder.

Seth "Daddy, It's so loud. I'm scared."
Adam "I know you're scared Seth. Daddy will do everything he can to keep you safe."
As the wind pounded the walls, Ivah sat and gazed at images from her dream coming to life before her eyes. She had dreamed of this storm many times. Sometimes her family remained in the shelter until the storm died. When they did everything turned out okay. However, sometimes Caine would leave the shelter in her dreams. When this happened she could not see the outcome of the storm. She was sure that meant disaster for her family. Since her birthday her dreams had showed her things that would happen in the future. Dreams or visions were beginning to come to her when she was also awake lately.
She had tried to tell her mother once about them. Eve had just looked at her with... pity, fear, she was not sure which. So she kept her secret from her family. She did not know why she had this gift, or curse she just knew that if Caine left the shelter she did not know what would happen.

Eve "Ivah! Baby girl, are you ok? You look so pale."
Ivah "Don't let him leave Momma. Ciane can't leave the shelter."
Eve "Of course he isn't leaving baby. It is much to dangerous out there."
Ivah "If he leaves..I can't see what will happen. He needs to stay."
Eve "Ok baby, we'll make sure he stays."
Eve looked at her daughter and worried. Since Ivah had grown to a teen she had been acting a bit strange. She was having vivid dreams almost every night. She seemed to know what was going to happen and it usually did. Eve discussed her concerns with Adam, but he just thought Ivah was a bright and perseptive child. Eve wondered if it wasn't a bit more than that.

Seth "Did you here that? I think the lightening started a fire outside."
Adam "I don't think a fire could last long in this rain Seth. I'm sure we'll be ok. Would you like for me to tell you a story?"
Seth "Okay, Sure!"

Caine sat on his bed and worried. He did not hear the conversations going on around him. He was only thinking of one thing , Meadow. She was also in the middle of this strom and he was not there to protect her. He was aware that that wasn't his job yet. Her father was responsible for her safety now, but he just had to be sure she was okay.
He knew he shouldn't leave the shelter. The rain was coming down in buckets and with the lightening it would not be safe, but he had to know. He was sure he could make it to her home unharmed if he went through the forest. He knew his father would not allow him to leave, but he just had to know for himself she was okay.

Caine "Dad, maybe I should go see if Meadow and her Dad are ok?"
Ivah paled as she heard the words. He was going to leave.
Adam "No Caine it is much to dangerous for you out there. Meadow's father will make sure she is safe."

Caine "But what if..."
Adam "No Caine! It is too dangerous. You could get hurt, or worse. You are very important to this family. You need stay in here until the storm dies. Once it stops raining you may go to her."

Caine "You don't understand. What if she's hurt, or what if her Dad is hurt and can't protect her. What if..."
Adam "There are a lot of "what if's" Caine. And I do understand. You love her and want her to be okay the same way I love your Mom and want her to be okay, but my job is to protect this family. You may go see her after the rain."
Caine "It may be too late then. I am going now."
And he ran from the room.

Adam "Caine! Stop! It's too dangerous!"

Panic spread through Ivah as Caine left the room.
Ivah "Stop Him! Daddy! Abel! Stop him! I don't know what will happen if he leaves. He can't leave."

Abel "Where is he going?"
Adam "He's going to Meadow."
Ivah "Abel, Please stop him."

Abel "Caine, where are you going? Dad told you you couldn't leave."
Caine was going to ignore Abel and just leave, but he loved his brother and needed him to understand why he was going.
Caine "I need to know she is okay Abel. I just need to know."

Abel "You can't leave Caine. You are too important to this family. You're the heir. You've wanted to be the heir since you were born. Now you are! You can't risk that for some girl."

Caine "She is not just some girl Abel, she is my future wife. I love her. I know being heir was the most important thing to me. I was young and selfish. I'm not any more. What I feel for Meadow is very unselfish and very real. It is killing me not knowing if she is okay. Don't you understand? She could be hurt. She could be..."

Abel "What about you Caine. What if you get hurt or get killed, just to see if she is okay. Dad is right, you need to stay with your family. Ivah is terrified your going to get hurt, she's in there pale with grief. She thinks you'll die if you leave. You need to stay. Go after it stops raining. In fact, I'll go with you."

Caine "It may be too late by then. I need to go NOW!"

 Abel "Your risking your family for some girl. You could always find another wife Caine, but we only have one of you."

Caine "How dare you suggest I could just replace Meadow."
Caine was blind with fury and grief. She swung at his brother, wanting to kill him for what he said.
Caine "how dare you suggest she could be replaced."
As he looked down at Abel in pain on the floor he stopped. He had never hurt his brother before and it hurt him that he was capable of doing so.
Caine "I am sorry Abel. I need to go."
Caine left the safety of the shelter as Abel picked himself up off the floor.

Driven by the love he felt for Meadow, Caine ran. He didn't think he could live if anything happened to her and he did nothing. He would bring her back with him, if he made it back. He wasn't sure if he would ever see his family again, but he knew what he had to do. He needed to make sure she was okay.

Abel "I couldn't stop him."
Ivah "He's gone?"
Abel "He hit me, he's crazy. I couldn't stop him."
Eve "He hit you? Are you okay?"
Abel "Yes, I'm okay."
Abel fought off the tears of grief threatening to break free. He had lost his brother and he had to be strong for his family.
Abel "I'm sorry Dad, I couldn't stop him."

 Adam "It's okay Abel. I don't think anyone could have stopped him from leaving."
Abel "I couldn't stop him."
Tears streamed down his face as Abel as he grieved for the brother he lost.
